John Stark has an excellent technical and business background, including 6 years with Battelle Research Centers and 6 years as a management consultant with Coopers & Lybrand. As an independent consultant since 1991 his consultancy clients have included companies such as Blum (Austria), ABB (Finland), Autoliv, Braun and Henkel (Germany), ABB, Charmilles, Nestlé and Schindler (Switzerland), and 3M, Aerojet, Allied Signal, AMP, ATT, Coca-Cola, Dover Elevator, Eaton, Ford, General Motors, Kodak, Midland Grau, Sikorsky and Xerox (US). John Stark has B.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from Imperial College, London, England. He is the founding Editor of the Engineering Data Management Newsletter, a monthly Newsletter with over 500 subscribers in more than 20 countries - and is the author of 10 books addressing CAD/CAM, CIM, computers in Engineering and Manufacturing, and EDM/PDM. The most recent are Engineering Information Management Systems - beyond CAD/CAM to Concurrent Engineering support (1992), and Competing by Design (1994). His 'Competitive Manufacturing through Information Technology : The Executive Challenge' has been translated into Japanese.
