Security procedure

CAD/CAM/CAE data residing on disk can be copied onto a disk and/or transmitted down a telephone line very simply and quickly. Once transferred to another system, it can be copied and manipulated to suit the recipient. The security of confidential data is therefore of prime importance.

Scope
This procedure should specify any specific security requirements for CAD/CAM/CAE data and equipment.

Content
This procedure should describe how CAD/CAM/CAE data is to be secured and how physical access to modems, tape drives, and disk drives is to be restricted. It should describe the levels of protection necessary for all types of data from macros to models of sensitive or confidential items.
