Design procedures

Design procedures specify how design work is carried out with the CAD/CAM/CAE system and define interfaces with any manual methods. They should be general documents describing how product development and support is organized and CAD/CAM/CAE work is controlled. Managers, supervisors, and users responsible for work that makes use of CAD/CAM/CAE will be the main users of these documents. The following procedures are usually required.
Planning and initiation procedure
Data creation, update, and development procedure
Data checking, sign-off, and release procedure
Data change control procedure
Standard data creation and update procedure
Data transmission and reception procedure
