Alberto Codrino

Alberto Codrino is a leading EDM/PDM consultant and the Italian correspondent for the Engineering Data Management Newsletter and Workflow Word. He’s a member of EsoCe (European Society of Concurrent Engineering), CeSTEP, the Italian STEP Committee, and AICA (Associazione Italiana per il Calcolo Automatico).

Alberto is Operations Manager at ITI Systems S.r.l., ITI’s European competence center responsible for developing business in the area of Product Data Integration (Legacy Systems Integration, Product Data and Configuration Management, Engineering Workflow and Document Management, Product Data Exchange).

Alberto graduated from the University of Turin in 1983. Since 1984 he has worked in the PDM industry. He has carried out many consulting assignments in engineering and manufacturing organizations to support the design and development of IT systems in areas such as:

  • Business Consulting (Business Process Reengineering, Project Management and Cost Management)
  • Product Data Management (acquisition, management and distribution of product definition data : specifications, drawings, CAE files, process plans, CNC programs, etc.)
  • Workflow Management
  • Document Management (acquisition, editing and distribution of documents in electronic format, native or raster)
  • Integration of Project Management, Engineering Data Management, MRPII, A/E/C Systems, simulation and finite element analysis (CAE)

Alberto's clients include companies such as Fiat Auto, Iveco, Aprilia, Imetec, Fincantieri, Ansaldo Energia, Magneti Marelli, Fiat Avio, Alenia and Comau.

Recent speaking engagements include ANIMP Conference, ‘Gestione Elettronica della Documentazione’, DevFORUM, ANIPLA Conference and AUTOMAZIONE 2000 Conference.

Alberto is the author of more than 20 publications ranging from ‘The Extension of DATAID-1 Methodology to Database Software Design’ (1983) to ‘Le tecniche CAD, CAE, CAM e CAPP al servizio della progettazione e della produzione avanzata’ (1998).
