* Welcome *
Welcome to 2PLM, an e-zine distributed about every two weeks. This issue includes :
  • Participate in the Global PLM Survey 2007
  • PLM News
* Participate in the Global PLM 2007 Survey *
Last week we launched the Global PLM 2007 Survey.

PLM Professionals in engineering and manufacturing companies can participate in the survey and get the answers to their questions.

The survey has two objectives:
  • to identify and describe the situation of PLM in 2007
  • to help answer the questions of PLM Professionals
The survey is in two parts. The first part addresses the current situation of PLM, the second part looks towards the future.

The first part of the PLM survey has been prepared on the basis of discussions with many companies. Based on their input, it contains 30 multiple-choice questions that will lead to an overview of the current situation of PLM thought and practice. These are questions that were frequently asked by PLM Directors and Managers. Questions such as:
  • Which components are included in your company's PLM scope?
  • Which lifecycle phases are included in your company's PLM scope?
  • How much progress has been made with PLM in the last 3 years?
  • To whom does the person responsible for PLM report?
  • From a product point of view, what are the most important challenges?
  • From a product development point of view, what are the most important requirements?
  • What is the current status of PLM applications in your company?
  • To what extent are the following issues driving your PLM activities?
  • What has been the main benefit of PDM for your company?
  • What is the expected main benefit of PLM for your company?
PLM Professionals in engineering and manufacturing companies can request a copy of the first questionnaire here.

PLM Managers and PLM Directors often have many questions about how PLM is addressed in other companies. The second part of the survey will give them the opportunity to get the answers to their specific questions.

When returning the completed first part of the questionnaire, they will be able to propose questions for the second part of the questionnaire. After we have received these questions, we will compile the second part of the survey, and send it to all those who answered the first part.

After we've received the answers to the second part of the survey, we'll compile an overview, and send it to all those who participate.

Survey answers will be treated as confidential. Names of participants will not be published.
