* PLM State of the Art 2006 Report * The PLM State of the Art 2006 Report gives an in-depth introduction to 'cradle-to-grave' PLM, and is a great resource to support a PLM Initiative and to help you develop a PLM Vision, Strategy or Roadmap. The Report is currently being used by companies in many industry sectors including automotive, electrical, electronic, food, industrial equipment, machine tool, medical equipment, plant engineering, and white goods. The 103-page second version of the document, published in May 2006, includes: an overview of PLM; a PLM Framework; the Six Levels of PLM; development of a PLM Vision; a Best Practice PLM Initiative; and Key PLM Issues for Users and Vendors. * PLM in motion : PROMISE animation * A new White Paper, "The Promise of Increasing Business Value with PLM and Smart Products", describes PROMISE, an innovative approach that brings together, and builds on, PLM and Smart Product technologies to offer companies a new business model and new ways of creating business value. Smart Products are products that can sense and communicate information about their condition and environment. The core concept of PROMISE is that this information can be transformed into knowledge to support existing products and to help create new high-value products and services. PROMISE addresses the complete lifecycle of a product, with emphasis on capturing and managing information during the last two phases of life - the Middle-Of-Life (e.g., use, maintenance) and the End-Of-Life (e.g., recycling) - and the way that information from these phases can be used in the design, production and support of future products, thereby closing the product information loops. According to some reports, when consumers swing the Wii Remote with the original version of the wrist-strap using excessive force and accidentally let go, the cord connecting the controller to the wrist strap can break, potentially causing the Wii Remote to strike bystanders or objects. Details A350 news According to the "EADS gives go ahead for Airbus to launch the A350 XWB" Press Release of 01 December 2006, "The EADS Board of Directors has given the go ahead for Airbus to launch the industrial programme for the new A350 XWB airliner family." .. .. "EADS expects to spread the development costs of the full XWB family over the years 2007 to 2014 with the bulk of spending occurring in 2010-2013."
