Welcome to this issue of 2PLM, an e-zine distributed about every two weeks.

Achieving PLM in 2006
by John Stark
Before looking ahead to this year's activities, a few words about two activities at the end of last year.

On-demand playback of the joint SofTech, Inc. / John Stark Associates PLM Web Series which was presented in November and December is now available for those who missed the live sessions. Details

Version 1.7 of the Making Progress With PLM Manual was published. Developed to help those running PLM Initiatives and PLM Projects, this version includes answers to 100 questions asked in 2005 by people such as PLM Project Managers, PDM Managers, Business Process Managers and CIOs. The Manual includes a 101-page Word file and a 204-slide PowerPoint file. It's full of knowledge, experience and advice that will help project teams make fast progress with PLM. Details

Global PLM 2006 Program - From the Big Picture to the Details
A review of last year's activities and discussions led to the conclusion that, in 2006, many PLM Managers and PLM Project Leaders will be faced with deploying from the PLM Big Picture (which is now reasonably clear) to the details of its implementation.

As a result, we're starting an initiative to help them with their PLM projects and activities throughout 2006. Called 'The Global PLM 2006 Program - From the Big Picture to the Details', it's designed to allow frequent interaction with participants, enabling them to suggest subjects to be addressed and to ask specific questions. Eight Project Reports are expected to be published during 2006. Join now to gain maximum benefit from a unique Program focused on PLM implementation. Details

PLM State of the Art Report - January 2006 Version
Last year we were asked several times if we offered a publication describing the overall State of the Art of PLM. We didn't, and although we were aware of reports that addressed components of PLM, in particular PLM applications, we couldn't find one that addressed PLM in the wider context. Yet with PLM evolving fast, this would be a useful publication.

To fill the gap, we've developed a PLM State of the Art Report. The January 2006 version is now available. Details

PLM Status and Next Steps Review
Resulting from requests from companies implementing PLM, we're developing a Review Service that will allow us to provide them with a PLM Status Report. The report will quantify their current PLM status and identify potential next steps. We are now looking for companies from different industries with a need for this service in the first half of 2006. Mail for more details.
